When goods are exported they leave Dutch or European Union territory permanently. In such cases the exporter or person submitting them for export is obliged to follow certain regulations.

For example:
  • the invoice must comply with the demands required by law.
  • the customs value of the goods must be determined in the correct fashion.
  • the goods must be classified according to six rules for classification of user tariff.
  • you should consider whether there are any export restrictions on your goods (an export permit is required for strategic or nuclear goods).
  • a (written or electronic) tax declaration must be made to the customs office at the point of departure.
  • following the acceptance of the tax declaration, the goods must be kept in the same conditions as during the submission of the tax declaration.
